MUBs was started when Ruth (our founder and mother of three, grandmother of two) couldn't find a reusable produce bag she was happy with. The options were either too expensive or too heavy (meaning added cost at the checkout).
She made the first prototype on her kitchen table in Raglan, Aotearoa New Zealand with one idea in mind, keep it simple and functional.
After two years of testing and with feedback from family, friends and industry experts the first verions of MUBs was born. What started as a personal project has grown into a product we needed to share, and it was important to us that we do it right.
MUBs is a whaanau (family) run business lead by husband and wife team, Ruth and David.

We are a whaanau run business that will fight to keep costs down and deliver the best price in stores - reducing your environmental footprint shouls be affordable for all. We are determined to make planet friendly shopping accessible to everyone. Selling MUBs via supermarkets and other outlets achieves this.
Ethical manufacturing
We have personnally visited the factories we use for our production to make sure that they are up to our standards. We are committed to upholding fair working conditions not only in Aotearoa New Zealand, but world wide.
Conscious convenience
Life is busy and naturally we reach for the things that are convenient, but that doesn't mean we can't make eco-conscious decisions at the same time. We believe convenience and making an evironmentally friendly choice do not need to be mutually exclusive. It should not be harder to do better.
